Summary
The 2008 Hyundai Tiburon is a low-cost competitor in the sport coupe class. It's sharp looking, and performs well too. Lookout Mitsubishi Eclipse, the Tiburon is coming for you. With its sporty handling, firm grip on the road, features and price, the Tiburon is a comer.
Trims and 2008 Tiburon Styling
The 2008 Hyundai Tiburon comes in the GS, GT, GT Limited, and the SE. Safety equipment for all models includes a tire pressure monitor, seat belt pretensioners, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, front side-impact airbags and front airbags.
The GS offers air conditioning, XM Satellite Radio with three months of service, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, power windows, heated mirrors, and keyless entry. Get the Premium package and you can add a power sunroof and cruise control.
The GT features a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, trip computer, metallic trim, cruise control, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, and driver's side adjustable lumbar support.
On the GT Limited you can add a sunroof, automatic transmission and red leather - all standard.
The SE features electronic stability control with brake assist and traction control, rear spoiler, red leather seats, and red front brake calipers.
Interior Style and Features
Tiburon's seats are comfortable and the inside is flashy but, as you would expect, small. In fact, if you're very tall, you may have to move the seat well back. But to be fair, it offers just a bit more room on the inside than the Eclipse - less than an inch in fact but you don't buy a sport coupe for its roomy interior. Other features include blue backlighting for the instruments, cupholders, and a smallish glovebox.
First Drive 2008
Drive the 2008 Hyundai Tiburon and you'll hear it roar. The throatiness of the engine as you shift gears is satisfying. The Tiburon boasts good acceleration, a smooth clutch and good brakes. It also gets about 24 miles per gallon, depending on which transmission you select. It manages to push through curves relatively well and doesn't lose any respect here.
2008 Conclusions
If you're looking for a four-seat sports car, the 2008 Hyundai Tiburon is worth a look. You can get a lot of sports car for a little money. "If you want a new sports car but don't want to
spend a lot, the Tiburon is worth considering." says Automotive.com.
